Dustin Johnson teed off Sunday afternoon leading the British Open through 36 holes, but the competition he’ll need to fend off runs far deeper than just Jordan Spieth. A tournament that began as an apparent showdown between those two has evolved into something much more muddled.
Moments before Johnson was due to tee off at 3 p.m. local time (10 a.m. ET, ESPN), he remained in the lead by one stroke at 10 under par for the tournament. But 18 other players were within three strokes of him, including Spieth, who birdied two of his first five holes Sunday to move to 7-under.![]()
